James M. Harr – Vice President Research and Development
Mr. Harr is an experienced R&D professional with over 25 years of experience developing world class medical devices. Over the last 19 years he held various R&D leadership roles at Covidien, Medtronic and Cardinal Health where he was instrumental in the development and launch of numerous market leading medical device platforms. As the Global Vice President of Research and Development he was responsible for a multifunctional organization which included R&D, Program Management and Technical Services that supported 4.5 Billion dollars in annual revenue.
During his tenure with the Covidien family of companies he was a key contributor in developing the gated New Product Development process and pioneered the first major growth development platform for the company. His efforts resulted in a successful launch of an infusion platform that still holds the top market share position within the industry. Mr. Harr is certified DFSS Blackbelt, inventor on 45 patents and has received numerous company wide awards for both his technical and leadership excellence.
Most recently he has been working as an independent consultant providing technical and leadership services to medical device companies primarily focused on new product development efforts. His technical leadership, execution style and team building skills led to the redirection of numerous product development efforts to maximize success.
Mr. Harr has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
