OSA Biomedical Optics Conference Highlights Commercial Research

MediBeacon™ Inc. Chief Scientific Officer Participates on Three Industry Day Panels

(FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, April 27, 2016) – Dr. Richard B. Dorshow, Ph.D., President, Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of MediBeacon was invited to participate on three Industry Day panels at the Optical Society of America (OSA) Biomedical Optics Conference on April 27, 2016.

The topic of the first panel was “An Introduction to the Regulatory Process: How to Get from Technology Development into Real Life Use”. During this session Dr. Dorshow gave a presentation on the regulatory process in which MediBeacon is currently engaged.

During the second session, panel participants provided comments and advice to biophotonics entrepreneurs following a series of five-minute company pitches.

During the third session, panel participants led an open town hall forum on the commercialization of products, which utilize biophotonics technologies.

Founded in 1916, The Optical Society (OSA) is the leading professional association in optics and photonics, home to accomplished science, engineering, and business leaders from all over the world.

The OSA Biomedical Optics Conference consisted of topical meetings in imaging, spectroscopy, therapy, and translational biophotonics. The conference assembled an international group of leading engineers, optical and medical scientists, and physicians who are engaged in optical methods to advance discovery and application of medical science to clinical practice.
